Marvel-ous

Back in January, when we took the kids to the circus, we were given two flyers outside of the arena.

The first one was about circus animal cruelty. While we all enjoyed the show overall, no one picked the animal spectacles as their favorite acts in the show. Personally, watching the tigers and elephants made me feel sad and guilty, but enough about me and the elephants that rolled over like dogs and the tigers that hopped like bunnies (blech).   When it was all said and done, Mike and I agreed that an animal-free circus or something like Circque Du Soleil might be a great future family entertainment option.

The second flyer we were given was for a show coming to South Florida this November called Marvel Universe Live. It’s a live-action arena stunt show that kicks off in New York City on August 13th and features everyone’s favorite Marvel superheroes – Spider-man, Captain America, Thor, Wolverine, Hulk, and many more – as they team up to stop Loki from cloning the power of the Cosmic Cube, which could obliterate not just Earth but the Universe itself. The heroes will face some of their greatest foes including Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Red Skull, Madame Hydra, and Electro.

Bam! Kapow! Zap!

The show sounds like a perfect combination of an animal-free circus and Cirque Du Soleil!  Well, sort of…

You can learn more about Marvel Universe Live here, and you can read an article and watch a sneak-peak video about the traveling superhero circus here. (It’s really cool!)

Simply put, the show looks Marvel-ous, and I know two little boys who will be very happy campers if they get the chance to go. Maybe I’ll surprise them…or maybe I won’t because we all know surprises are tough to pull off with my brood.

In any case, stay tuned because I hope to have more show teasers to share in the future and (maybe-possibly-my-fingers-are-crossed) a ticket giveaway for local South Florida readers for the November shows.

Long distance readers can check out tour cities and dates here.

Have a Marvel-ous day!
