One For The Bucket

In four days, Mike and I are taking Dylan to see Cars 2 (Riley will hang out with Grandma Barbara because he wouldn’t last ten minutes in a dark theater).  I think we’re more excited about this than we were about taking the kids to Disney World for the first time.  When the first Cars movie opened in 2006, Dylan was an infant.  It was around his second birthday when he saw the movie on DVD for the first time and discovered the love of his life (so far).  There was a brief break-up – after Toy Story stole his heart at Disney World – but thankfully the affair was short-lived.  Dylan knew where his heart was – with Lightning McQueen, Chick Hicks, Mater and the rest of the Radiator Springs gang.

In honor of this momentous occasion, I thought it would be fitting to look back at some special memories of Cars and why we’re thankful to have it in our lives.

It makes birthday cakes delicious.

It makes wishes come true.

It makes Halloween fun.

It makes bed time simple (sometimes).

It makes potty training easy (well, a little easier).

It makes getting dressed each day a cinch.

And best of all, it makes Dylan happy.  This is Dylan’s official Cars 2 countdown calendar:

A while back, I started a bucket list of things that make me feel happy, proud and grateful all at once.  You can read about the list here.  Without a doubt, taking Dylan to the movie theater on Saturday morning to see Cars 2 (in 3D!) is going straight into the bucket.
